The story and details

The story: On the Tōkaidō road between Edo and Kyoto, one stretch could only be crossed by sea: seven ri, about 27 kilometres, across the bay from Miya to Kuwana. Hiroshige shows the end of that crossing — the moment the travellers have been waiting for. The sheet comes from Famous Sights of the Fifty-three Stations, his upright series of the Tōkaidō, made three years before he died. Printed to order on soft cotton, in six colours including black.

Details: 100% cotton · 220 gsm · regular fit · crew neck · printed on the front.

Care: Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle; do not bleach; tumble dry low; iron at low temperature, avoiding the print; do not dry clean.
