The story and details
The story: Cassatt painted it in Paris the year before she first exhibited with the Impressionists, and her friend Edgar Degas advised her on the background — she later wrote that he even worked on it himself. The low viewpoint and the bare floor tilting up behind the chairs owe much to Japanese prints. The painting is in the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
Details: Glossy white ceramic · 11 oz · the picture printed on both sides with the artist’s name beneath · dishwasher- and microwave-safe · lead- and BPA-free.
