The story and details
The story: In 1890 Cassatt saw the great exhibition of Japanese prints at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and went home to make ten colour prints of her own — drypoint and aquatint, each sheet inked by hand — with the flat colour, clear outlines and everyday intimacy she admired in Utamaro. Maternal Caress is one of those ten.
Details: Glossy white ceramic · 11 oz · the picture printed on both sides with the artist’s name beneath · dishwasher- and microwave-safe · lead- and BPA-free.
